M. Christian

“M.Christian’s stories squat at the intersection of Primal Urges Avenue and Hi-Tech Parkway like a feral-eyed, half-naked Karen Black leering and stabbing her fractal machete into the tarmac. Portraying a world where erotic life has spilled from the bedroom into the street, and been shattered into a million sharp shards, these tales undercut and mutate the old verities concerning memory, desire and loyalty: truly an author for our post-everything 21st century!” –Paul Di Filippo, author of The Steampunk Trilogy

“M.Christian lets the reader have it with both barrels in story after story that set a new standard for Twenty-First Century pulp fiction. From far-out science fiction to gritty, hardboiled realities these are the kind of stories that make the reader hang on for dear life on a wild ride.”
–Ernest Hogan, author of Cortez on Jupiter and High Aztech

Calling M.Christian versatile is a tremendous understatement. Extensively published in science fiction, fantasy, horror, thrillers, and even non-fiction, it is in erotica that M.Christian has become an acknowledged master – with more than 400 stories in such anthologies as Best American Erotica, Best Gay Erotica, Best Lesbian Erotica, Best Bisexual Erotica, Best Fetish Erotica, and, in fact, too many anthologies, magazines, and sites to name.

His short fiction is constantly selected for inclusion in yearly Best Of- anthologies, and has been collected into many bestselling books in a wide variety of erotic subgenres, crossing M.Christian’s strengths in science fiction/horror/fantasy/thrillers with his skill and striking voice as an eroticist. His collections include the Lambda Award finalist Dirty Words and other queer collections like Filthy Boys, BodyWork, and his best-of-his-best gay erotica book, Stroke the Fire.

As a novelist, M.Christian has shown his monumental versatility with books such as the queer vamp novels Running Dry and The Very Bloody Marys; the science fiction erotic novel Painted Doll; and the rather controversial gay horror/thrillers Me2 and Finger’s Breadth … all published to critical acclaim.

But M.Christian has other tricks up his literary sleeve: in addition to writing, he is a prolific and respected anthologist, having edited over 25 anthologies on his own and with collaborators like Maxim Jakubowski and Sage Vivant, including Hunger: A Feast Of Sensual Tales About Sex And Gastronomy, My Love Of All That Is Bizarre: The Erotic Adventures Of Sherlock Holmes, Pirate Booty: Erotic Tales Of Buccaneers And Captives and many others.

He’s also been a lecturer and teacher of a wide variety of subjects. On the lighter side he’s done classes like How To Be A Successful Freelance Writer, Finding The Magic All Around You (life improvement), and many others … and on the more (ahem) explicit side he’s on Basic Bondage, Sensual Caning, Creative Power Play, Sex Magic, Enhancing Your Sex Life Through Erotic Writing, and lots of others.

When he’s not writing – which isn’t often – M.Christian (“Chris” to his friends) is an avid foodie, gamer, photographer, keeper of and creator of odd little art projects … and, considering Chris, ‘odd’ is an understatement as well.
